Ok just got threw watching Ghost in the shell Innocence and the puppet master in that was implied to be Kim from there past, but never getting the chance to prove it. Could the real laughing man seeder have seeded, or worked on the A.I. system 2501. Giving rise to the puppet master as the A.I. became sentient, and reflected part of his creator?
Next the one I think might be the real laughing man is that old man, or the cartoon representation of masamune shirow, I'm not sure yet which. If anyone knows who the old man from the TV series Ghost in the shell is supposed to represent if he does represent someone, Please let me know. The episodes from the T.V. series that has the old man I think might be the real laughing man /puppet master seeder/creator. Is episode 6 season 1 volume 2 Meme part 2 The copycats dance, As the assassination attempt was happening you'll see a old man with a cane and a cap, that walk's up to the guard post and say's to the guard " Hellow. You say, how do you get to the hotel where the super attendant general is going to be assassinated" Then he laughs and smiles and looks like the laughing mans logo, then we see him in the police station saying " It's a lie" and laughing. Or is he just a copycat inspired stand alone complex? Was he really manipulating section 9, while getting intel on there spin? Also in season 1 volume 3 episode 9. Chat!Chat!Chat! about the laughing man. Part one The man who dwells in the shadows of the net, Did the real laughing man have puppets in the chat session manipulating the social structure to those who don't have a high enough acuity of a type, or looking for a major motoko type to appear? Analyze the lady and the guy motoko link's with, and how they direct a path of thought with the moderator in the chat session. Also notice the guy who was inspired to go to the assassination attempt but decided not to at the last moment ( the guy that starts the sources remarks ). Is the laughing man really manipulating a social collective phenomenon with puppets in the chat room to helping guide that collective to a specific outcome/event/belief system, while representing himself in the shadows so to say? And in volume 3 episode 11 Portraitz, ! possible clue to the laughing man and his ideology, and or inspired stand alone complexes being seeded into future generations of a laughing man phenomenon. Is the old man wearing a cap playing a domino like game, the real laughing man seeding the next generation, while learning elite coding, barrier and mazes construction/disassembly/reformation and other hacking tech. Also are they in touch with this guy kim who is really the chief and the kid a puppet? Or was the kid just exploring the puppet master phenomenon as he learned how to become the next version of the laughing man complex. A guy from the past Who actually alters the seeded children and such after they are motivated/inspired to copy him in some ways. A girl in the closed cyber brain syndrome center says " I'm going to create a world of beauty. My eyes will view threw a mirror mind. " .Also you'll see the same old guy in a scene right as the major runs into the place and they show a kid frying a agent. Is that really the laughing man? In season 1 episode 21 Eraser we see the kid laughing man, but is he just a copy of the old guy from the center of kids with cyber brain closed shell syndrome? When he hack's batos eyes on the street he vanishes with no logo placed. Is the real laughing man just a stand alone complex emerging from a seeded good social/psychological molder/creator, witch in turn goes bad from other aspects of society twisting the original imprinting of ideologies, and is the real laughing man a generational seeder of a standalone complex that arises in society? And in season 1 episode 22 scandal. And in session 1 episode 23 equinox. You'll see the face logo in places. Also when the kid, or major laughing man is talking to the corporate leader about why he didn't hold up his end of the bargain. They have a chat where the kid/major is realized as not being the original laughing man, with the MO of corporate terrorism, and uncovering corporate injustice/malfeasants on a society. So was the real laughing man a kid, or a old guy who seeded talented kids which gave rye to the laughing man complex in the society which feed into itself with myth and lore that evolved threw conspiracy theory's? Please if anyone knows or has any good ideas let me know. TY

The real Laughing Man is the man who kills Nanao A. He also speaks with Togusa in the diner in the 4th episode. The same guy appears in the last episode after Serano tries to open his car door.

Thanks but who is that old man
I don't think that he
I don't think that he represents anyone. He's one of those characters that pretty much means nothing. He was basically a Laughing Man copycat and nothing more.
