What's Your Opinion? ... Presidental Election 2008.... Politics/Government....

Zaborg19 & I were having a discussion on tis topic and I thought that I should make a new topic just for this. So here is a place to say what are your thoughts on this. I hope that there will be a lot of responses here because this affects everyone, no matter what your age.
Here is what we have discussed so far:

So who do you think is going to win the election? I have been following this on the news and it seems that Obama is leading so far. I would like to see him win as would a lot of my friends. I know that McCain has more exerience, but he is so old to be running for the office of President, the oldest one in history I think. It is a very stressful job to be sure and it old be a shame it he ended up dying while in office. I know that Palin is young but in all honesty, I don't think that she is ready to run the country if something were to happen to McCain. What do you think?

Glad that there are others here that follow politics besides Gin & I. (I'm sure that he will also reply the next time he's on.)
I think that Obama will do a much better job as President and he is going to get my vote. I dislike McCain and this is one reason why: it seems to me that he wants to keep the war going no matter the cost. Now don't get me wrong, there is definitely a threat to world peace with the Alcaida ( spelling?) and the other terrorists in the Middle East, but we really need to think about bringing our troops home, you know. I have many friends that have fmaily in the Marines and all they desire is to have them back home. I totally support the military and what they do, are doing, & have done for our country & the world. In fact my father is an Army Veteran & my borhter-in-law is a Navy Veteran.. Keeping a SMALL presence over there is beneficial in some respect. However we as a country also need to realize that we can't force a country to conform to our way of doing things as far as governmental issues are concerned. In my opinion if we continue to try to make them do as we do, it is no better than what a dictator would do, does this make sense to you?

I'm very happy with the out come of this year's election. I was kind of worried Mcain would win after all four years ago we were stupid enough to reelect Bush. But thank God we are smarter than we were four years ago. OBAMA RULES!

we've only been the most recent

...however sadly there are still some that are discriminatory...
and it is a sad thing to see. But unfortunately it is a part of life... I only pray thatsomeday discrimination will be totally gone and we can all live in peace.

well...
hi guys! well i'm not from the U.S. so i can't really contribute that much with your discussions about your upcoming elections... *smiles sadly* well anyway, one thing i can say about my country's politicians is... they suck... bigtime man... with all the corruption and stuff... *sigh* really disappointing... well i also know that there are a lot of really really good politicians out there but... *sighs again* i just hope "good triumphs over evil..." i mean it's really disappointing and it really pisses me off when i see all those people suffer from poverty when in fact hell millions and millions are being pocketed by those politicians who don't give a damn about other people and only think of making themselves wealthy... *shakes head* but i still do appreciate that despite this there are still good-hearted politicians who do there best for the country... *smiles in approval*
(hmmm... i hope i don't get banned or sent to jail from saying those about them, wil i?? hehe... lol... ^_^)
anyway, on with the discussions guys... although it does strike as serious stuff, but it's also fun and really interesting reading and learning about politics of other countries... ^_^
