I would have to say Baki the Grappler is the best 'fighting' anime around. Still, I cant believe that he was a 13 year old with that body LOL!

basilisk is ok, really depressing ending. ikki tousen is loosely based off of the chinese novel romance of the three kingdoms. it is set in a highschool setting while opposing factions fight each other, lots of panty shots contribute to the lack of a plot (ecchi). dragon ball franchise is a must see for martial arts enthusiasts.

i just watched the original 1985 version of vampire hunter d. the animation is dated and the sound quality wasn't as good but it has a solid storyline and is fairly faithful to the light novel except for some rewrites in order to condense material for time. this story had more of an action feel, whereas vampire hunter d bloodlust had more of a horror tone to it. i would recommend both, but madhouse did the animation for bloodlust (also more ninja scroll and x movies and a segment in the animatrix).
