basilisk
the opportunity of having seen the brilliance behind this epic story was mind captivating. the way the directors subtly hint on the themes of love honor passion and betrayal brings this particular anime to the rank of an epic film, and the story line its strength so defiant is unwittingly one of the best.... a little on the slow side though... and its movie counterpart i.e Shinobi being a tad slow also and a little less enjoyable but all the same a great viewing for all those anime fans out there who are interested in that genre of animation....
The path to conquest leaves nothing else to be desired!!!!
As i beckon thee from the depths of mine madness...I've seen the anime on IFC
I've seen the anime on IFC and I absolutely loved it. Great action, interesting story, nice character moments throughout. Top notch stuff! It's seems rare that a series like that makes it to the US now a days too, it's more shonen fair usually.
But yeah, loved it. If I could find the boxed set for under $50 I'd probably pick it up too. Eventually I want to read the manga and the original novel as well. The live action movie, Shinobi: Heart Under the Blade, wasn't very good though. I did like the woman who played Oboro in it, but that was about it.
