New Anime made by someone else then Japan???

I was wondering if there is any manga that was made lets say by Americans or Canadians. Cause all you see is Japan. Also if you know the ones write new and popular ones cause if its 20 years old and nobody buys it and a failed project crushed by competition then you know.

i know good manga are coming out from Korea and Hong Kong but haven't heard of anything from US/Canada I always think the us/canada are best for heros series.. manga from HK are quite kung fu, and usually in colour as well

I have the animated Spawn series on dvd. I liked that series a lot. Since it was on HBO they were able to be more true to the subject matter than if they were on anywhere else.
