which version do you usually prefer? I always prefer Japanese w/ subitled, it jut sounds better... I find the English version sounds too dramatic compare to Japanese subtitled version (even I know they're saying the same thing)
well
i would say the jap w/sub becous thay say the original thangs in amarica version thay cut alot of stuff out...like word wise..ya know?"people do not need violence to solve there problems."
I agree that they change
I agree that they change alot in the dubbing and it always seems like they miss a lot of the background sounds when they try to dub everything.
Yup. They really do change a
Yup. They really do change a lot when they dub. I like subs better myself, but sometimes I have to watch something in english.
definitely subbed
subbed is better, hands down. they don't always get the voices close enough to convey who the character really is. case in point: yuki from fruits basket. when hearing his voice in japanese, he sounds soft-spoken and cultured. in the dubbed version, he sounds more like a spoiled child who hasn't yet reached puberty. and they drop anything which would give most the shows worse than a pg rating. naruto's potty mouth cleans up beautifully for the kiddos in the dubbed version.
good piont.
"people do not need violence to solve there problems."
they change anything they
they change anything they think might be objectionable. Case in point: Sailor Moon. Nephlite was a male bad guy that had a romantic encounter with another male bad guy, so in the dubbed version they gave him a female voice and an impromptu sex change so he wouldn't appear homosexual ( which is what he was).
sailormoon is the whole
sailormoon is the whole reason why I didn't want another dubbed version ever... it broke my heart completely.. luckily I managed to get hold of a subbed version before I left the anime world for good...
Okay, i was watching Karas,

I was watching the Noein series and they do a good job dubbing it, they kept a lot of the background sounds from the original Japaneese.

Go watch it on Anime6.org
Go watch it on Anime6.org they have the whole series. :) "All of human wisdom can be summed up in two words - wait and Hope."
I like anime6, but I am
I like anime6, but I am getting frustrated with it as well. Some of the series I want to watch, like Azumanga Daioh, are either removed or not available, and then other series redirect you to another site where all you get is ads for AdultFriendFinder.com, and splitting episodes into two parts is just annoying. But, I found some really good series on there the watch. I just started Jyushin Enbu from Hiromu Arakawa ( Fullmetal Alchemist), and it's really good.
I've had some issues
I've had some issues too on there with a few series, with episodes missing, unavailable to watch, and i hac a few evangelion episodes with no sound yesterday, but i still like the site because they have some series that i can't find anywhere else. "All of human wisdom can be summed up in two words - wait and Hope."
japanese with subtitles i
japanese with subtitles i like beter well it really depends on the show i ges
I really like buying the
I really like buying the dubbed DVDs so if your in the mood to watch it in english you can, but every dvd i have has the original Japaneese with subs so it's a win- win situation."All of human wisdom can be summed up in two words - wait and Hope."
you know, you're right. I
you know, you're right. I never even realized that until now...
I agree
"Soon the ashe's of your past shall burn again."
english subtitles
Since I am still in the process of learning Japanese and Chinese, I actually prefer to have original language with english subs. It just makes it seem more real and it sounds so much more beautiful. Example, watching Blood + on tv with all english didn't do justice to watching it in original japanese.
a lot of times it depends on
a lot of times it depends on what i heard first. if i hear an anime in dub first then i will go "okay, i like it" but if i hear it in japanese first then i will go "the dub is horrible". that's most of the time.
I am finding myself watching
I am finding myself watching the subbed versions more. When they dub the anime, they make the english voices sound like idiots. 92% of the teenage population would be dead if Ambercrombie and Fitch or Hollister said it was uncool to breathe.
Half
eh kinda half and half for me, i have the 4 part Macross plus movie and its dubbed and they dubbed it realyl well. then i have the Macross II movie and that is subbed. I enjoyed both but I guess if its dubbed half decently ill take the dubbed version cause i have having to read and sometimes miss the small gestures or looks the actors give. "Don't doubt the darkness, it can be your enemy as well as your friend."
Honestly I like buying the
Honestly I like buying the DVDs that have option of both, but I find I prefer whichever I listen to first is my fav; for example I prefer Hellsing in English dubbed rather than in Japanese. In life theres no such thing as black and white its all grey.
I dont care
NeAr2.0I dont really care as long as i watch my anime
Japanese with English
Japanese with English Subs... definitely After all anime was created in Japanese and it fits the original language better. The american actors/actresses voices just don't seem to fit all that well. Dewa Mata,Niji-Hana
I hate
I hate shows with subtitels and show in Japanese; simply because I can not understand them. I definatly preferr english dubbed
so do you
watch Vampire Knight because i know it is only subbtitled. if you watch enough subtitled shows you can start to pick up on the language...i know a lot of the language from just watching the shows subtitled."Someone once told me you can't put a price on human life, although when push comes to shove the price suddenly becomes negotiable"
