lets say i want the element Fire......meaning i would control all other elements. Fire grows with wind, Fire burns the wood and earth to ash, consuming them to burn greater, Fire melts the ice, Fire evaporates the water, Fire is lightnings cause, Fire makes the suffocating smoke which poisons ur lungs, and of course Fire is the darkness burning everything it touches cause all hope to fade into nothing any yet its light, like a single candle lighting a dark room. That's not control...that's how it can affect it's environment (pending any of the given circumstances). pretty much fire can melt ice as snow (a different form of ice if u think about it) can snuff it out. In that respect, so can earth snuff out fire. Wind can blow out a fire if it's strong enough. Water can douse fire. Fire and lightning are not the same, their different forms of energy. Fire burns oxygen so it can continue burnin, and to a point where all oxygen is consumed it dies. Fire doesn't directly affect light or shadow, since it can cast light itself, the object(s) shined upon cast their own shadow. From a far enough distance you can't see a flame in the darkness. The same is in respect to light, and as with lightning, is a different form of energy. Light still exists in other forms, such as incandescent and manmade. Darkness doesn't always contribute to evil, just as light doesn't always attribute to good...

if i had a power over an element i would have to saywind. because that way i could fly and wind can be used to control the other elements! and if i couldn't have that theni would wish to have the power of life and death. in the right hand i could touch some and they could incinerate intoembers and ashes, but in the left grant life back even if in ashes, i could bring back the dead and say the phrase "I'm gonna kill you! bring you back to life then kill you again!" lol "No mercy for the weak, pity for the dieing, no tears for the slain..."
