There both Dojustus decended from the sage of six paths two sons one uchiha other senju. The Byakugan or Sharingan, well the Byakugan can see near 360 degrees and charkra paths. The Sharingan can see ninjutsu, genjustu, hypnotize, Mangekyo Sharingan , EMS (Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan), see chakra flow and the colour of it though not to the extent of the Byakugan.
The Sharingan has two kinjtsu Izanagi and Izanami. Izanagi cna warp rerality into illusion and illusion into reality as well as re-writting ones deastiny, Izanami can dull all of the five senses and was created to stop anyone who abuses the power of Izanagi. Pus the Sharigan is also know as the Curse of Hatred due to its emotional tie to the weilder. The moment and Uchiha loses someone close to them thier love becomes hatred. This despair-filled experience would cause a manifestation of special chakra within the Uchiha's brain, affecting the optic nerves and creating the Sharingan.
The Byakugan can see near 360 deagrees expect from a blind spot at the back of the neck above the first thoracic vertabra. The weilder can see 50 metre feild vison upon activation which cna be extened at thier disctretion, as well as seeing through soild objects and some degree of telescopic sight. The Byakugan can see the chakra, colour and path circulation whcih allows the Hyuga Clan to use thier ultimate attack the Gentle Fist which focuses on internal damage of the body unlike the Stong Fist whcih focuses on external damage. It like the Sharingan and Rinnegan cann see chakra flow allows the user to see chakra seal barriers, if the usr is skilled enough they can see the 361 pinprick-sized chakra nodes known as tenketsu. Some users like Hinata can magnify and zoom , seeing small insect in an area and infered specterum allowing Hinata to detect body heat signitures.
So the debate over which Dojustu is the best will never really be decided unless everyone choses the Rinnegan whicg canuse both powers of ther Byakugan and Sharingan.
