How big is your library?

I just want to know if I am a bit on the excessive side or if there are others worse than me. :) I have 200 dvd's, not including the 13 box sets, and probably just as many manga, but my wife has the manga in storage all over the place so I can't get a good count on them. Not to mention all of the t shirts, hoodies, jewelry, figures, posters, calanders, etc. I know there has to be someone worse than me out there, but I think I have a decent collection. How big is yours?

Don't worry, I have filled 2
Don't worry, I have filled 2 Ikea bookshelves (200 m) with double decking and probably over 200 DVDs as well (it came to a point I need a harddisk to save a copy, and a CD bag as it took too much space) i think I buy roughly 3 comic books per week as well .. say I'm crazy
i'm falling behind a bit
i only have about 170 dvd's and a few box sets i'm missing episodes all over the place i really need to get my act together
i have about 2 book shelves
i have about 2 book shelves full of nothing but manga, and 3 w/ anime
I get a lot of my stuff
I get a lot of my stuff used, so some of it is spotty, but I try to get as complete a series as I can. I just made these shelves to hold the collection, but they still aren't enough. The shelves on the left have most of my PS2 games ( A-S) and the shelves on the right have the movies and anime. The top 2 shelves and half of the third shelf are all movies, the rest are anime, but it still isn't enough. I have several more stacks of anime dvds to house.

^_^ mine big i guess lol if i add up how big mine is its around 8 to 10 trigabytes worth of anime lol... or around 1,000 series, ova's, and special's ^_^ i guess thats allot lol...got it all backed up on a 15tb hard drive lol...coasted me a bit lol... so i guess its big lol...

Yeah, I'd say that's big!!! Where did you find a HD that big? Biggest I knew of was 1TB, and that was pricey.

its not 1 harddrive loli got 8 of them in one computer as my backup lol spent about 5grand on it lol and i have my custom computer its 2tb lol ^_^ itself lol spent around 6grand on it from scratch ^_^

Wow dude, that's alot =O! I don't 'collect' DVD's of anime or anything. Although I had to buy the S-CRY-ED series o.o Must be hella expensive xD

it grows by a lot at income tax time! Usually buy at least 10 dvds with my return, if not more. Then for a while it was buy a dvd with every paycheck like a little reward.

I'm a pretty serious
I'm a pretty serious collector of anime & video games. I think I'm closing in on about 300 anime dvd's (including box sets). I'm picky about my collection. I have alot that are rare now and I won't buy any complete collections or thin packs because I don't like the way they look with the rest of my collection & for some reason they seem like the lesser versions to me. I have tons of video games, some of them also very rare, as well as craploads of figures, posters, manga, art books and other related items. My room looks like Genshiken club, ...seriously.

That's another thing. I keep all of the videogames I buy as well. I don't like to trade them in, so now I have around 150 PS2 games, 50 GC games, 100 PS1 games, 30 or so Genesis games, and some NES games. Oh, and about 60 Atari 2600 games.

Oh yeah. I love going back and playing FFVII and VIII, Legend of the Dragoon, Parasite Eve, Resident Evil, Doom, all of those great games.

I usualy get bored of my games 'cause i like to experience new things. so i trade them in so i can get different games like that Naruto game for the Xbox 360. that's a cool game but the mini games for it can be a sod at times. Metroid Prime 3 Corrupstion is a decent game.

well, i usually get a voucher which you can spend in that shop (sadly) but you get more for the voucher than you do when you want cash. and besides, i don't mind what i get really, as long as i can get rid of them.

That's pretty cool that some of you also like Parasite Eve. I loved that game. A lot of people don't really know about it. The second one wasn't as good as the first in my opinion, but I still liked it. I'm kinda disappointed that the upcoming new Parasite Eve game will be mobile only. I don't even think I'm going to bother with that one. I've also played FF VII and VIII a number of times. I can't wait until later this month when Crisis Core comes out. It looks like it's going to be much better and Dirge of Cerberus. Oh and Xenogears, I LOVE that game. Come to think of it, I still play a lot of PS1 games. I was playing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night earlier today. Speaking of which, I can't wait to see the Castlevania anime. I hope it turns out good.

I have quite a few manga
I have quite a few manga books;. my cabinet is getting rather full 'cause some of the series just won't end, like battle vixens for example, the bloody series won't end.

i think I started my
i think I started my collection when I was 12.. (even I lost all my 1st series of comic) and it takes time to grow.. it comes to a point I really need to be selective on comic buying.. there are so much out there, both new and old as well

I finally hit one hundred dvds, I don't comare to some of you guys, but i am proud of it. Fear and Anger are the roots of evil so i choose to be fearless and forgive those who offend me.

I absolutely admir ppl who actually go out and buy DVD... I really reserve my money on comic books and do the naughty thing with anime series... I only buy special collection from Japan as well.. they tend to give out special gifts along side... and that's why I'm sooo broke when I actually buy a DVD Box set...

lol, you do the naughty with anime...It was originally I would buy the dvds, and my wife would buy the manga. it got to the point where we would go to Best Buy or some other place to check out the new dvds that she would end up holding about 10 dvds, at the cheapest that's like $200 worth of dvds, then look upset when I told her to only pick one.

its great you have a wife who likes manga, I wish when I look for a bfthe first criteria is:love manga or at least appreciate my library... he moans (or even my famil) moans so much about the quantity of comic... and make me give up those if I don't have a whole set... I always want to know what to do if you lose just one book....

Sorry, you saying "he moans" threw me somewhere else for a minute... lol. What to do when you lose one book from a series? You go out and buy a notebook, and start recreating it from memory... lol, no silly, you just replace the one that you lost, which, upon being replaced, will immediately show up again, giving you the new problem of what to do with two copies of the same volume.

that's what happened to me only I rent comic and later found that I lost it.. so I paid the compensation to the shop then found out later it was sitting in between the gaps of my office table... grrrr now .. shall I buy the rest of the series of that supposingly 'lost' manga book or leave it Still figuring out

When I was younger I thought
When I was younger I thought about it. I spent a lot of my free time at the library, and would read like a fiend. It honestly was nothing for me to read 10-12 books a week while in school and still spending time with my friends, and during summer I would read 20+ books a week.

I used to go to library a lot as well. and I remembered finishing all Agatha Christie in 3 months (I was 12) Unforunately my University library puts me off because of heating (it is boiling hot throughout the year) and no air-con as well... I wish my local council will have a manga library.. how great it would be.. rather than stocking sloppy love stories
