Is it true? (FROM VARIETY) – DreamWorks has acquired rights to the Japanese manga Ghost in the Shell and plans to develop it into a live-action feature. Steven Spielberg, who took personal interest in the property, is said to have played an integral role in the deal. The story is about a member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that specializes in fighting technology-related crime. Masamune Shirow's Ghost in the Shell was first published in 1989 and has gone on to spawn two additional manga editions, three anime films, an anime TV series, and three videogames. The second anime, Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, was released in the U.S. by DreamWorks in 2004. (Variety) http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20191463,00.html

I love how they described
I love how they described GITS. Take Bladerunner, AI and Akira, throw them in a blender and hit "awesome". 92% of the teenage population would be dead if Ambercrombie and Fitch or Hollister said it was uncool to breathe.
Information overload
I got to check my minions... did catch anything really on the matter but sound interesting..... well its got to be for steven spielberg to have taken interest hmmmm. The path to conquest leaves nothing else to be desired!!!!
thats awesome
i hope they do it justice. ghost in the shell inspired the makers of matrix so hopefully they make it kinda like that. "You know what you have to admire? A Catholic hit man who blesses himself just before he strangles someone."-George Carlin
