has everyone had a chance to see the live-action deathnote movie? i was pleasantly surprised. i have been a huge fan of the anime, although i have not taken the time to read the manga, and i must say that this first movie has certainly done the anime justice. they parallel each other well, the acting isn't second-rate, and the characters! L for one, is spot on. if you haven't already seen it, this one is definitely worth looking for.

they have done the live action movie in Japan.. which is 2 part movie at the mo.. not sure if there's a subbed version though
So I downloaded this movie.
So I downloaded this movie. It said DeathNote - L Change the World. I wasn't sure if that was the real title or not, seeing as no one made any mention of a name, and the movie that I got WAS live action. HOWEVER, I couldn't understand what anyone was saying due to lack of subs, and last I knew, Deathnote didn't have anything to do with cops that get electroshocked to become giants to battle huge monsters. It WAS highly amusing to say the least. If anyone knows the name of the movie, please let me know.
look again
just keep trying at the two places i mentioned. the file i downloaded had both parts of the movie with subs. as far as i know, the only title on part one was 'deathnote'.

Ok got part one an watched it, now have to get part 2. Very well done though. I am very surprised that so far they only made small changes to the story line. The guy that plays L is a riot!!! he is so dead on with the way L acts, it's great!!!
L was perfect.
you can tell from the way the actor moved, sat, and especially the way he held his food and drinks; this was a guy that had studied the anime prior to performing his role. but they were all good. i don't think they cast the best actress to play misa, but all else was great.

The guy who played L was perfect for it. I haven't seen the second part yet, so I haven't seen to much of misa. I can't wait to watch the rest though. On another note (deathnote) I read somewhere that the guy that plays L and one of the detectives ( I forgot which one) are getting spin offs of there own from the deathnote series.

I saw it on the 20th and it was awesome, only thing that really caught me off guard was that misa was played by a chick with black hair. dunno why just hair color alone made me think that as completely wierd but oh well haha, the Movie was awesome and the CG work on Ryuk was amazing. ive ordered the second one off of eBay with english subtitles, cant wait till it gets here "Don't doubt the darkness, it can be your enemy as well as your friend."

They Dubbed it
They actually Dubbed it over in English, i havent seen too many dubbed movies so it was kidna wierd for the first few minutes but then i got used to it. Overall it was an awesoem movie and matched the anime and manga perfectly. they also made it to where if a person had never seen the aniem or manga before they wouldnt need everythign to be explained to them, onyl a few things about the shinigami and the death ntoe were really needed. the only thing that caught me off guard a little is taht right towards the end they introduce you to Misa and she is played by a japanese girl with black hair unlike the blonde beauty she is drawn as int he anime and manga lol. it sets it up perfectly for Death Note 2 with Rem dropping misa's death note almost in the last scene of the movie. The actors are amazing and you should definitely get a subbed version off of eBay for liek $5. jsut make sure it has the 1 region code if ur in the US or Canada. I've seen the subed version online, i was just wondering about if they dubbed it. I really liked the movie. I agree that the black haired misa was different, the end threw me a little because the anime is different, i mean the whole L thing and Mr. Yagami thing, but the shinigamis were pretty good. I sure miss out on a lot of stuff...wish I would have found this site & forums earlier... DaisyMae, you said you saw a subbed version online, where was that at? I'm watching the previous episodes & trying to catch up on whats happening on the anime. I plan on reading the manga as well.

thanks but i just recently finished the first one and im on the second one. my sister saw l changes the world recently also. rem is awesome. they did really well with all the cg. ram and ryuk look totally real. anyway thanks again for telling me where they had the movies. the darkness is pulling me in NeAr2.0

Hey thank you so much for that site! I keep trying to look for new sites to watch anime and stuff. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to the Death Note movie. I wish they wouldn've aired it when we were all on vacation!

hey guys, did you heard about hollywood taking the story of deathnote and making as if they made it, duh!! And zac efron is playing Kira, arghhh!! I just hope that this movie will never be done!! Deathnote is better than any hollywood stuff going into it!!
