hey just seeing who likes philosophy and what kind you like. also we can debate about others as well.

Me i'm a consertive (just to get started)

i guess i adopt the bothan doctrine of total war, Ar'krai, as my philosophy.

Philosophy of War

Kazuki_Renryu_The_Tainted's picture
All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him. Tzu, Sun ~ Kazuki Renryu~ It's a personal favourite

One would hope that the troops aren't baka ( idiots).  Any military would definitely have their intell seeking out all important info firstin planning their stratadegy of attack & defense.

Which is why we ( you & I ) are going to win EndWar once I get my Xbox 360... heh heh heh

Niji-Hana2008's picture

Zabby, that's sad about your grandma.  But at least you got to meet her.  I dont' think that my Mom would know what trib of American Indian she is related to, it is from her Dad's side and he died when she was a teenager. So I dont' have anyway of finding out.

The interesting thing is that I don't look like I have any Indian in me at all... lol... I'm blond with blue eyes, haha...and I look more Swedish/Irish than anything.

Me?

I look like an ugly afro person werido guy... typical american LOL! Brown hair, eyes, and always with a serious look on my face with an un-serious personality LOL!

What do I think about Communism?

Niji-Hana2008's picture

Well that is a deep topic...

I know that Russia and China are considered in that catagory...

That Stallin was one and he did a lot of pretty bad stuff...

As for my opinion on it, well being an American and all, I guess I think that it's not all that great.

But I'm sure that there are a lot of good things that resulted from that kind of government for their countries as well as the bad...

just like here in the USA where democracy has had it problems...

I didnt read the rest of this but...

Zaborg19's picture
I think that the idea of pure communism is a great idea, but when you put it all together, it wont work. I think the biggest thing about it that wont work is that everyone gets the same pay. If everyone gets the same pay, then people who work hard and have harder jobs wont get paid more than, well, an example: A doctor will get the same pay as a factory worker. Eventually workers wont really have to do anything much to get paid. Like if you were in a car factory and worked on the assembly line, your job was to put bolts on some parts as they pass through. But, since your going to get paid the same anyway, you might miss some, throw some on, and not really try. Democracy has its problems, yes. But I think its a much better way of life than Communism.

Now this is how

Gin Ichimauro's picture

In "Das Capita" an encycolopedia of communism the Govment Will give more stuff if you work harder if you don't then you lose stuff that's how they did because the goverment own almost everything like houseing and cars but you did have some personal items and no insurance the Goverment would pay for it all and that has to be a huge pain i mean do you think a power hunary Govermen is going to pay money to it's citizens were i'm going is that communism won't work because there's to much greed "absolute power, corubates absolutly"

"Shinso slay them all"

In Stalin's Communism

Zaborg19's picture

Where they would work they had a worker of the month. That was about it. Only the people with, what should be, better paying jobs MIGHT get a little something nice. Maybe. But they really never give you anything because they dont really reconize you. If they did nothing, nothing bad really happened.

yes and no

Gin Ichimauro's picture

In stalin's communism if you didn't work then you would be sent to the golags a russian form of the concenteration camps and you would be forced to work without pay

"Shinso slay them all"

well said Zaby *grins*

crescent's picture

that's one of the things i don't like about communism either... it takes out the drive within us to work harder to have a better life... i mean in communism it's like: why the heck should i try harder? we're get the same with everyone else anyway *shrugs*... that's why no matter what it's faults are democracy is way much better... ^_^

~Crescent

"...beneath the truth lies a lie and behind lies hides the truth..."

to get more stuff from the goverment

Gin Ichimauro's picture

like cars houses more land etc....

"Shinso slay them all"

well

crescent's picture

be it democracy or communism, they both have their own good sides but i guess one can never really find both totally satisfying... i mean for communism egalitarianism seems good with its doctrine that each person should be treated equal, a classless society... it must be nice to live in such a society but on the other hand, with everyone equal and such there'd be no room for personal growth for those who strive harder than the rest coz everything is controlled so as to ensure that a communist society would remain egalitarian...

oh by the way, i was just wondering... did any country really achieve true communism? i mean i know China and Russia were classified as communists but communism is supposed to be all about classless society and all those stuff you find under the definition of communism... were they really like that?

~Crescent

"...beneath the truth lies a lie and behind lies hides the truth..."

i see

Gin Ichimauro's picture

Stalin actully wasn't a communist and the party hated him Lenin hated him but he did do a lot great and terrible things for russia. Russia now is a dictatorship. China i think is a nationalist not a communist state. Me being a former comunist i know all the rights and wrongs good purpose but never will work

"Shinso slay them all"

Oops...

Niji-Hana2008's picture

Like I said I'm not that great in anything history related.... at least I had the part right about Satllin being involved with russian politics *sigh*.  Russia used to be big time communist though, and I remember hearing a lot on the news about the "cold war" when I was in high school.  I didn't really pay attention to it that much though.  China used to be communist.  Didn't know you were a communist, never would have guessed that. You're a cool guy...just goes to show you that the saying " Don't judge a book by it's cover" is 100% correct.  It's what's inside that counts.

I've never really considered myself  anything in particular as far as politics are concerned...in fact I'm registered as non-partisian for voting.

on most things i am liberal.

sns18's picture

on most things i am liberal. but some things i am conservive.

i am not a flip-flopper

what i belive, is what i stand for.

and i am not one of those hippie tree huggin' liberals either. i just have the same point of views

hmmm... that'd be the same for me i guess...

crescent's picture

that'd be the same for me i guess... i also stand for whatever i believe in... and because of that i  think the most logical work of philosophy is embodied in 8 words: "stay if you're happy, leave if you're not"... i mean people should learn to trust themselves and stand up for themselves and whatever they believe in...and live their life the way they see fit... because whatever we become would depend on the choices we make... I remember a line by Victor Frankl and he said: "everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way"

(oh if you're wondering who Viktor Frankl is he was the one who wrote the book Man's Search for Meaning... i learned about him when i took up a philosophy class last year... according to him meaning is something contextual and asking someone "what is the meaning of life?" is asking a wrong question... it's like asking what is the best move in chess?... that's because there is no definite answer coz meaning is found within the situation...) ^_^

~Crescent

"...beneath the truth lies a lie and behind lies hides the truth..."

i understand that

Gin Ichimauro's picture

i live by a few quotes "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"  "religion is the opiante of man"(karl marx) "everybody is created equal" that's what i belivie and also i take no crap from anybody as well endless i actully deserve it

"Shinso slay them all"

yup yup

crescent's picture

only hopeless cowards would think they are incapable of taking control of their own lives... i mean it's your own life right why give it to others to control...

>"the enemy of my enemy is my friend" --ooh that's a cool line!^_^

> "everybody is created equal" --- i love that *grins* (it's just a pity that not everyone understands that though.. that's why there's still so many sad and painful things happening in this world...)

~Crescent

"...beneath the truth lies a lie and behind lies hides the truth..."
