New Anime made by someone else then Japan???

I was wondering if there is any manga that was made lets say by Americans or Canadians. Cause all you see is Japan. Also if you know the ones write new and popular ones cause if its 20 years old and nobody buys it and a failed project crushed by competition then you know.
