Has anyone ever heard of Petshop of Horors? If not you should deffo check it out. There's this creepy guy named Count D who looks like a girl and he's the pet shop owner. Oh yea, and the pets they buy will resemble humans and come with special instructions they have to follow or they end up getting killed by their beloved pets. :( I've only seen a few eps. but i have some of there books its just as good!<3
Here's the synopsis:
In an anonymous city in Chinatown, a mysterious pet shop stands nestled between restaurants and pop stores. The storekeeper, known only as "Count," offers a marvelous selection of rare and unusual animals with the ability to manifest their masters' hidden desires, unfulfilled wishes and hopes for a second chance - but there's one catch. The buyer must sign a contract agreeing to follow a specific set of instructions for the animal's care and maintenance. Breaking the terms of the contract results in serious repercussions for which the shop assumes no responsibility-so, let the buyer beware.

i read the manga version. I havn't seen the anime version of it. There's a manga sequal called, "Petshop of Horrors: Tokyo". ^___^

Yea i remember that movie,
Yea i remember that movie, but this anime is pretty twisted i think. One episode that i seen was with this man who had just got married on a cruise ship, something happen to his wife and she goes over baord and gets lost at sea. So the guy goes to the pet shop and sees a mermaid that looks just like his wife and of course its a man eating fish, well long story short she ate him in his own back yard pool. Tragic.:(
