DreamWorks has acquired rights to the Japanese manga "Ghost in the Shell" with plans to adapt the futuristic police thriller as a 3-D live-action feature.Story follows the exploits of a member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that specializes in fighting technology-related crime.Created by Masamune Shirow, "Ghost in the Shell" was first published in 1989. It went on to generate two additional manga editions, three anime film adaptations, an anime TV series and three videogames. The second anime film, "Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence," was released in the U.S. by DreamWorks in 2004.Read More...

-Alf-Aries-Sani love the Ghost movie, the 2nd one was like a bad sequel but the S.A.C. 1&2 are really good. I hope the movie comes out looking really BAD ASS!The Lt. is really sexy

I think making Ghost in the Shell 3D is really cool and I want to see it but... it wouldn't really be an "anime" would it? I wouldn't want them to do too many animes in 3D they just wouldn't be the same ... thats my opinion anyway... In life theres no such thing as black and white its all grey.

I'm willing to wait and see what they do before I'll judge, some times when they take try to take a movie to the big screen they lose something. Lets just hope it's as good as the series has been.

  I luv Gost in a shell(even if i only watched one or two of them) cant wait till see it in 3-D^^'(im not old enough though)(i think anway) wise men chose Death before war wiser men chose not to be born

While I am excited with a live action Ghost in The Shell movie, I think or at least hope that this 3D fad is just that , a fad ,and one that will be short lived.My other hope is that the live action version is just as good as the GiTS Stand Alone Complex anime.I'd hate to think that they would ruin a great franchise like GiTS.I mean just look at horrible mess that dragon ball became as last years live action film, can anyone say crap?Oh well, im going just hope for a good outcome with the GiTS movie, and leave it at that.
