Working on a Ghost in the Shell project

I'm currently working on a Ghost in the Shell project, which I started a few years ago. Pretty much, it started when I first watched the 1995 anime film and evolved from there. I created a character, whom my project kind of revolves around because there is so much stuff happening to her. I started by drawing 3 pictures, scanning them into photoshop, and coloring them. It then evolved into me writing a long paper filled with just information, such as a backstory, her life, events that are important that happened to her, ect. I am now actually writing my own GitS SAC season script, which my character is pretty much the center of. I've decided to go with 24 or 25 episodes and I've just finished writing Episode 6. When I finish my work and have it all protected for legal purposes, I'll upload it onto my profile so you guys can take a look and give me some feedback.

I've got the entire backstory complete

I've completely finished the entire backstory for my character, her family, and the reason for the events in my season. The origin of the events that take place in 2032-2033 date back to the Heian period, starting in the year 1143 with my character's family patriarch. I think you guys will like this story. Family Tree

I've finished her entire family tree, dating back to the year 1143. Normally, people wouldn't do this with their manga/anime, but I view it as only necessary in order to help explain the reasoning behind the events that take place during my season. Basically it takes place after Solid State Society, but it is custom in the fact that it also has implements of Project 2501 (Puppet Master) but there is a different AI character. And as for the length, some are the 30 minute lengths and some are much shorter. Basically, I've been busting my ass putting this script together, writing a backstory for Hatsumi (my character) whose portrait I'm using for my user picture, writing a backstory for her family, finishing illustrations of Hatsumi and adding color in photoshop, ect. Yep, I've been busy. Plus I have work every other day. I've really put my heart and soul into this and I'm looking foward to seeing the finished product. This is kind of a psuedo season 3 or 3rd Gig, so to speak, and it centers around the newly promoted Chief of Ground Staff Hatsumi Shinobi, who is the first female to be in command of the GSDA. As you've no doubt have guessed, the drawing on my My Manga page are of Hatsumi. Due to the fact that she is a woman, there are military officers who despise her for being their superior, one of whom was her own father. Her father disowned her because of her preference of sexual partners, despite the fact that I rarely address this at all. Now, this isn't the main focus. The primary focus of this season is the conspiracy between certain military officers who are plotting to kill her and the Prime Minister, via a terrorist who was originally from America and was once Hatsumi's friend. His name is Masahiro Takeda and is the one who is portrayed as the primary antagonist, however he is mearly a pawn for the military officers. Even the military officers are being used by this A.I. named Kaneren, whom you've read about in this thread. He despises all forms of human life and wishes to upset the stability of Japan and eventually cause another World War, killing off humanity for good. He knows that Hatsumi is too self-righteous and incorruptable for him to control, so he instead tries to assassinate her via Masahiro Takeda. He tries to kill Kusanagi and Togusa when Section 9 starts digging too deep into the events behind everything, and tries to pull off another Section 9 framing like in season 1. However, he fails there. He eventually has Hatsumi arrested and removed from the GSDA under false information that she had been developing nuclear weapons, violating Article 9. Eventually, Takeda comes about and realizes what is happening and proceeds with Section 9 to prove Hatsumi's innocence and hopefully shut down Kaneren for good. Yeah, believe it or not, the drawing where Hatsumi is dressed in her JGSDF military uniform was the first drawing that I did. Also, it was also my first attempt at drawing anime/manga. I am extremely pleased with the results of my art. I was doing some thinking and I'm not sure if Manga.com would allow me to keep my drawing of Hatsumi's nude prosthetic body on my My Manga page. You don't see anything inappropriate, since her left arm is resting across her chest, obscuring that sight. Her legs are also crossed in a way where you don't see anything. I wouldn't see any problem with it, however I don't know if the website would appreciate that despite the fact that I mearly want to show you guys what I am working on for Hatsumi."After a thousand battles, one only sees death!" -Chaos Space Marine Predator (Warhammer 40,000)

A.I. Character

I did a lot of mulling over and I've decided to have the primary antagonist of the season be a military A.I. developed by one of Hatsumi's subordinates. This A.I. is the one who masterminded everything that happens in the season and is responsible for the death of the character, Akira Kawashima, who is Hatsumi's best friend and second in command. The A.I. is also behind the assassination attempts on Hatsumi Shinobi and Prime Minister Yoko Kayabuki. Plus on top of that, the A.I. tries to indirectly kill Motoko Kusanagi and Togusa. This A.I. is a bastard. I had a hard time thinking of a name for him, but I did land on one. His actual name assigned to him by Hatsumi's subordinate (also an antagonist who is being manipulated by the A.I.) is JGSDF326SAIptypv.1, which stands for Japanese Ground Self Defense Force Type 326 Sentient Artificial Intelligence Prototype Version 1. Now, since that name is much too long and it's too hard to remember, I've decided that the A.I. calls himself "Kaneren", which means 'accomplished' and 'correct'. Basically, Kaneren was designed to be the A.I. who ran the GSDA's mainframe and offered support and valuable information to certain GSDA officers, such as Hatsumi. However, Kaneren was too advanced for his time, much like the Tachikomas in season 1, and was scheduled to be shut down and deleted by Hatsumi and Kawashima. However, Kaneren, being more intelligent than a human, discovered this and turned to rampancy, developing a grudge against the two and against humanity as a whole. Strangely, despite the fact that Kaneren despises humans, he actually behaves like humans do, vis a vis, emotions. vicki kills people because she wants to safeguard humanity by changing its destructive tendencies, so she doesn't mind if some people die. skynet is an artifical being. it views humanity as a threat, the two can not live side by side so it will destroy humanity. for skynet it is a war of survival, this seems to be the norm in sci fi (check out the geth in the game mass effect for another example of that type, also the reapers in mass effect kill everything for their technology) what is kaneren's personality, how does he talk? is he like a cold calucalating being or is he like the joker from batman? He's much like Smith and the Architect from the Matrix series. He tries to behave like a machine. He's considered a bigot and has a tendency to talk down to others who he deems inferior to himself. Despite the fact that he hates humans and tries to act like a machine and like a program, he does suffer from human emotions and has a tendency to let his morality dictate his judgement. He views humans as an unnecessary factor in the world and is plotting to eradicate every human being and eventually take over every computer system in the world. He already has control of the GSDA mainframe and is planning to spread to the rest of the military mainframes and eventually the government's computer network. What he wants to do is eventually hack into the American Empire's computer network and cause another nuclear world war by launching every nuke that they have. Well, he does all of this behind the scenes and he acts like he doesn't know what's going on when he really does. Also, he's frustrated with humans because of how corrupt they are. He is also angry because his creator, Lt. General Hideki Yoshimura, gave him a human-like personality when in fact he is a machine. And since he suffers from human emotions, he has developed an infatuation with Hatsumi. Not really love, per se, but more like a jealousy type of love/infatuation. i was just watching a thing on the history channel called star wars tech and they were talking about the droids. they were talking about artifical emotions for robots. emotions help us to priortize and plan, so when kanenren learns emotions it will actually make him more intelligent. Yes, he will be more intelligent. However, he will be more fundamentally flawed since emotions tend to overpower important motor skills such as logic and reasoning. This is especially dangerous given the nature of what kind of A.I. he is. However, this has given rise to a very interesting story. It's almost like this, if machines and artificial intelligences can think and have emotions with higher thinking levels, what need is there for humans? That's the real question and that is what Kaneren is trying to get across. That's why he is plotting to eradicate mankind.
