I've been wanting to write a book for a while now, but I still can't come up with any good ideas. Anybody care to share? Please be a bit specific in any descriptions.

why not write about ninjas and stuff like that? i mean you must really love ninjas (i'm basing it on your avatar and username... hehe lol correct me if i'm wrong)... and one of the things important in writing a book is that you must like (or at least you're interested) what you're writing about and of course you must be knowledgeable enough about them... that'd make writing a lot easier... so yeah i think ninjas would be good for you... ^_^~Crescent"...beneath the truth lies a lie and behind lies hides the truth..."

Thank you both for the input. Of course, to make the most amount of money, why not write a book about something that's popular. And of course, writing about what you love is always a must. Right now vampires are very "in" so you can always reinvent the vampire again. I am working on a vampire story right now that is about fifty pages long so i'm not far and i have one about elkves that's like 80 pages long. i hope to finish both of them by the end of the year and try to get published. Draw on things you like. i watch a lot of anime and sci fi and read about almost everyhijng, get a little bit of an idea and change it around to make it your own. while you're at it why not add a little of wolves and stuff like that... lol... variation is good but way too much characters will make the story too complicated and a mumbo jumbo for readers though it'll still depend on how you weave the story anyway... well those are the most popular these days anyway, ninjas, vampires and similar beings... i think you'll do great with them...~Crescent"...beneath the truth lies a lie and behind lies hides the truth..."
That would be an interesting addition....
but like you said Crescent, it's important to not have too many different things going on in a book...it will only confuse the readers. But maybe the Vampire Ninja could have a Wolf partner, like a spirit guide of sorts, that would help him/her detect the enemies that they're hunting down. I'm taking a Japanese language class and our finals ar next week... Yeah, it's is that time of year... lol Good luck on your finals Crescent ^_^The one that I'm most nervous about is the oral one. We have to draw a pic of our room ( real or imaginary) and then use the picture to describe it in Japanese to the Sensei-- who wh will then ask us up to 5 questions in Japanese-- GAH! The worst part is we can't use notes.. O-O;;;;;haha... I think I can pull it off though and it's only 6% of the total final grade anyway... wow that sounds tough... i'm not a fan of oral exams either... written exams are hard enough but oral? *shudder* i can only imagine what you have to go through if you do it in japanese! lol but good luck though and i'm sure you'll do just fine... ^_^ oh yeah i was also wondering hana, when did you start studying japanese?P.S. oh by the way, we're not having final examinations yet... just prelims coz where i am we have two semesters in a school year 1st sem starts at June and ends at around the middle of October and the 2nd semester starts at November... we have the prelim exams before Christmas break, the midterm exams at around the beginning of February and the final exams at the end of March before the summer begins... ^_^~Crescent"...beneath the truth lies a lie and behind lies hides the truth..."

I'M BACK!!
after a long break (which still isn't over yet) I've finally made it back! Unfortunately.....I'm afraid that I've absolutely no writing material to show for it...sorry guys! It's been really hectic around here. My finals even got postponed until the beginning of next semester due to the amout of snow days we had "I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but at least I ain't a spoon!"
